ABOUT BECK’S OUTFITTERS
Beck’s Outfitters was formed in 2021 and is the result of two established businesses merging together.
Lips, our embroidery and printing arm of the business, was originally established in 2002 as a family business, headed up by our master seamstress Gill Thurlow. Lips specialised in embroidering garments for many years before Phil Bullen joined the business and added printing to the offerings. Together they have grown the business before deciding to merge with Len Beck & Son in 2021.
Len Beck & Son is a long-established local business that have provided the local community with high quality tailoring, alterations and formal hire. This family business has been the place to go in Hull for over 85 years and we are proud to become part of this historic company.
The Team
Gill Thurlow – Gill has worked in the fashion and garment industry for many years, originally training and working as a designer alongside Jasper Conran in London. She has a keen eye for detail, a flair for perfection and quality.
Phil Bullen – Phil was part of a company providing school wear and sportswear in Hull before joining the Lips team. With his experience and knowledge of working with schools and sports teams, he is able to understand their needs and requirements. Phil has worked with many businesses, providing support with garment selection, logo design and printing.
